    2019 - 8th Annual Winter Yeti Hang - Frog Lake Campground Jan 18th-20th - 2019

What - 8th Annual Winter Yeti Hang
    When - January 18th- 20th 2019
Where - Frog Lake Campground, Oregon
Why - Why Not......See you there!!!!

It's that time of the year again and I'm excited to put together another group hang. The hang takes place at the campground of Frog Lake and is a short hike in from the parking lot. I will have blaze orange ribbon markers with "Yeti Hang" written on them leading the way for the ones that have never been there before. I look forward to seeing all of you there!!!!
Also don't forget your Sno-Park pass!!!!!

    Let the conversation begin!!!!!

Sweet! Really want to make it this year, just lacking in my kit for snow. Cold is no problem, but I need to get busy and build myself a pulk and get some snowshoes.

This would be fun. Haven't done any winter camping in a hammock yet. How big is the usual turnout? What's the weather been like in past years?

Those of you who don't have a pulk, not to worry. It's a short walk from the parking lot along a closed road to the campground (about 3/4 mile). Easy to carry a backpack- you probably won't need snowshoes either as the road gets packed down by snowmobiles.

Say 12 people in 2017 and i think 20 in 2018. I really didn't need snow shoes last year but my first hang in 2017, I had to borrow a pair., off trail the snow isn't packed.

Here is a map of the area.....I meant to put it in the start of the thread....and another thing I wanted to mention is to bring wood....I will bring about 4 or 5 bundles but if everyone brings 2 or 3 then we should be good....I will also have my large JetSled for anyone that needs to haul supplies into camp...the past 2 years have been great with the wood amount and I hope this year is no different.....Also I will bring a large tarp for the main social fire pit and another one for storing the wood.....
It is still early and depending on weather, attendance and other variables we usually do a potluck style for Saturday dinner...but other than that .....there isn't a whole lot to plan for .....Just be sure to bring enough supplies for you and yours, bring firewood and don't forget the Sno-Park pass....they can be picked up at many locations in Oregon....Can't wait to play in the fluffy white stuff and see y'all again.....fingers crossed for deep snow!!!!

Not sure what you mean but the map is just to give a rough idea of the location.....the parking is just off 26 and a short walk from there to the campground

I guess what I'm trying to figure out is what's the typical low temperature and how warm of quilts does one usually need for this? I have a set of 20° quilts, I assume that's probably not going to be enough, right?
