This month, Jonathan and Mark chat it out with Wes Johnson from Lawson Hammock and discuss his progress from student to sole proprietor of Lawson Hammock. We have a conversation about the process of developing the Blue Ridge Hammock, a hybrid hammock/bivy product for the outdoors industry, and how outsourcing most of his business activities has given him the opportunity to grow a business and still have the freedom to grow his family from anywhere in the country. After discussing his business, Jonathan, Mark, and Wes chat about camping in the rain.

Finally got around to giving this a listen today. Doing my kitchen re-mod and fishing electrical through walls and your podcasts kept my mind right!
Enjoyed hearing the history ofLawson hammocks. I still have mine from 16 to 17 years ago.
It was my first hammock WAY before I ever go into gathered ends or HF or any of that.
Used to bring it to the Superior Hiking Trail and sleep in it and use paracord to hang it. Haaa.....I tied it straight out to trees with a 3% angle. Never broke.
Went to tents and bivys and tarps with my ultra-light quest. Wanted a better way to have my coffee whilst relaxing still in my sleeping bag in the morn and went home and dug out the Lawson and the rest is history.
So truly enjoyed it. Gonna buy you some coffee for that.
