I tried compression sacks. For some reason they just aren't working for me with my current pack.So what I do is double bag my quilts, night clothes, down jacket, with a compactor bag inside a REI pack roll top pack liner and use my Foot to compress everything before closing the bag. It's a race to get the bag closed before it starts fluffing back up.I also pack my pack the night before a trip and have never had a problem with damp or unfluffed down.

I took a week long trip in Sept. keeping my ugq bandit in a cuben fiber stuff sack. When I returned I was sidetracked while unpacking and my stuffed quilt rolled behind my bed.. I just found it after 5 weeks and have been using it for the past 3 nights... I noticed absolutely no difference. 40 degree 950 down..

Thanks for all the replies! This was very helpful. I ended up packing a couple days before the trip, and the quilts lofted just fine, as everyone assured me they would. Trip report coming soon...
