Cool ViDEO: A Dawdle on the Superior Hiking Trail/WB Eldorado & AMOK Draumr XL

I got up to Minnesota's North Shore past peak Fall colors.
Leaves all down on the ground. Me up in the air.
Not a soul on the trail. Windy and cold.
    Shoulder Test!

Drove up to Cascade River and did a short walk in to camp. Slept in Warbonnet Eldorado, WB MiniFly, Hammock Gear full length custom 20º Shug Incubator and Hammock Gear Custom Shug 20º TQ. So toasty when I crawled in after being chilled by the constant cold wind.
    Cooked dinner on a woodburner.
Woke to a cold morn' and lollygagged. Glorious~~~~

Hiked out to New Booger (my mini van) and drove down to Oberg Mountain parking but not before I stopped at Lockport Market for a Finnish pastie and some apple pie and coffee. I know how to live. Never stopped at Lockport but will for sure stop again.
Walked north to Rollins Creek site. Hung in the cedars in the AMOK Draumr XL. Got the pad about to it's limit that night as it got down to 26ºF and the pad is rated to 24ºF.
Really really comfortable lay in it. Woke to frozen water and a warm soul. Had breakfast from the hammock and pontificated.
Can I get a Glorious one more time please?!!
Nice to do an relaxed solo.

So good in the backwood hood.

It is a long video. Some viewers like that. Some don't.
As a person who puts out content, sometimes I just want the trip to play.

Does my heart good to see you back on the trail, that had to feel outstanding. Don't ever shave that beard.
Once you're lost in twilight's blue, you don't find your way, the way finds you.

    I agree about the beard.

Do you smell the cedars all night when you camp among them like that? Looks idyllic.

Fun to be able to grow out as I heal up. No gigs for a spell. Kinda fun.

Thanks Shug, looking forward to watching this at home.

I don't think it's possible for any of your videos to be too long! We can always skip thru, but there's no "add more Shug" button on the remote.

I'm looking forward to a relaxing solo next week myself.

Good to see you out on the trail again! Don't push that shoulder too hard too soon, even if it's feeling better, listen to the doc!

Again, thanks for the kind words, and I look forward to the next adventure you get out on, or just a lollygag, or maybe a visit from the Maple King! Those solo trips can be the best ones, time to think, no one to interrupt. Thanks!

Glad to see ole Smoky Eyes back on the trail Looked like you had beautiful weather and nice camp sites. I love this style of backpacking where you hike a few miles in and lollygag till it hurts. Thanks for sharing your trip with us and by the way did you know that the peanut butter pop tarts are back
