I spoke to Marty only once. He helped me place a special order. He was kind and helpful. I am sorry to hear he has passed.

So sorry to hear of Marty's passing. Hammockers who use his products are very passionate on the quality and pride that went into pieces of gear. RIP Marty, you will be missed.
Rest in peace, Marty.

Marty was a good friend. I just talked with him last month. I will miss him very much. He was a great person. He always took great care of his customers. Rest in peace Marty

This is sad news. I never bought anything from him, but after being on the forum for years I remember the countless times people mention the quality products they got from Marty. Not "WL" or "Wilderness Logistics", but always "Marty"
Years ago, it didn't take me long to answer my own question "Who's Marty?"
Oh no. I went to the WL site today and it said they weren't taking orders, so came here to get the info. So sad to hear this. Marty provided the best customer service. May he rest in peace.

I attended my friend Marty‘s service today. Not only was he liked and well thought of by people who had dealt with him in business, but by just about everyone who met him. There were so many people attending that the family was still receiving friends at least 20 minutes after the service was scheduled to start. The church was full and some of us had to watch a live video feed in the fellowship hall. Several people spoke, family and friends. Most of them just confirmed what we on Hammock Forums knew, Marty was the best. I guess I’ll just have to go to the S & S Grill for a burger one day and just imagine Marty sitting there eating one too.

I just heard of Marty's passing today.
Was up north camping for two cold nights and my head was cradled by one of his down pillows. Seems fitting.
Nice to hear that he was sent of with lots of love and admiration.
