Yup its all pretty much HYOH on most of this. 83% is the starting point, and it's what pretty much all the cottage vendors goto, and really, what do they know, other than what we tell them. I've also seen a bunch of posts where people fiddled with the SRL w/o measuring it first. After several adjustments they settled on a certain length. When they got around to making final measurements it was 83%. The point is more or less may suit you best. I just know I've never had to make an adjustment to any of mine.

    Thanks for the input

I have made a adjustable rigdeline, but have noticed that it slips during the night. So by replacing that with a fixed ridgeline with loops I will be able to fiddle with that to get to the sweet spot

Your adjustable ridgeline should not slip during the night. What kind of cordage are you using?

Same as the whoppie slings, just the normal ones.

I assume that you got your fabric from Extrem Textil. Try the Ripstop-Nylon, Hammock-Nylon, 70den, 66g/sqm, impregnated - it's not as wide but much better suited for hammocks.

With regards to the adjustable ridgeline: if it is slipping but you are using the same material for your whoopie slings that are not slipping, you probably made the bury too short. Samson gives the correct lengths (a fid is equal to the diameter of the rope x 21).

Yes, the fabric came from Extrem Textil.

    Thanks for the tip

I will post after I have fiddled with the rigdeline

I'm in agreement with the others who have already pointed out that you probably need more sag to the setup. The hammock does not sound like it's too narrow, if 160 cm (63 in) is the finished width. That's plenty wide and wider than my hammock. So figure a way to shorten the ridgeline which will make the hammock sag more and should give you the ability to get more diagonal than you appear to be in the photos.
