Hi everyone. Wanted to provide an update and bring closure to this topic. So after working together with the ROBIC yarn manufacturer Hyosung and considering all options, we have ultimately decided to move our lower denier fabrics (7D, 20D, and 40D) away from the ROBIC branding and into our high-end MTN series line.

The backstory here is that earlier this year (August 2018) we began working with Hyosung to vet the supply chain and clear up some branding issues. Through that process, we determined that some of the yarn being used in our ROBIC fabrics was not ROBIC branded. The yarn being used was a high-quality nylon 6, which is one reason the fabrics are so good, but it was not a branded yarn.

It's important to realize that a brand name is simply a company's way of making their product easily recognizable in the marketplace. While the presence or absence of a brand name can suggest the quality level of a product, it does not necessarily mean that the product (in this case yarn) is the absolute best.

In the end, we decided to remove the ROBIC branding and stick with the existing unbranded, high-end nylon 6 for a few reasons. Most notably, moving to all ROBIC branded yarn would have meant long production lead times, higher MOQs, and a slightly increased price for the end fabric. The kicker is that even if we did absorb all that, we would have no guarantee that the fabric would have been any better in performance than it is right now.

So effective immediately and moving forward, the following fabrics will be listed under our MTN series line:

0.74 oz MTN 7D Ripstop Nylon - high-end, ultralight quilt shells, wind/rain gear, etc.

1.2 oz MTN XL Hybrid - ultralight, wide body hammocks

1.7 oz MTN XL Hybrid - lightweight, wide body hammocks

To be clear, nothing is changing about these fabrics at all. They just have a different name now.

That being said, the future of ROBIC at RBTR is very bright. We will be concentrating on heavier pack fabrics such as the 420D ROBIC. We're also working directly with Hyosung to bring on several new ROBIC pack fabric lines, hopefully launching before the end of this year .

I also wanted to say thanks to everyone for their patience as we worked through this and we do apologize for the confusion. Thanks!
