Going on the A.T. End of October. Does anyone know if there is a spot to hang a hammock on Silars bald? If the weather is good im hoping to catch sunset, stargaze, and sunrise from on top. Will i end up on the...yikes...ground?! Anybody know please post, Thanks

Not really directly on the summit, but about half way up theres a campsite on the left. You might be able to find a spot there. The summit is technically off the AT so before turning left (heading NOBO) up to the summit Im sure you could poke around and find something. Haul water to the top, none up there.
I was up there for the solar eclipse last year. There were several hammocks set up on top in the trees just past the marker. Steep slope and buried in the trees but looked quite cozy.
