Well, I finally got a chance to measure my Chameleon ridgeline it came in at 113.5 inches but it was slack, not taught. I do have a bit of calf ridge, so I'm planning to make a shorter one. Since most of us seem to have started out at 110 inches from Dutch, I'm going to make a new one 106 inches long and count on the weave settling it out to 110.

Try clipping a mini-biner onto the ridgeline and wrapping the cord through the biner several times (shortening the ridgeline) until you find a length that works. Maybe you'd find you want less than 110 inches (after stretch).

Thanks for this post! I've had my Chameleon for just over a year and just can not find a comfortable lay in it over multiple trips and multiple hangs. With the Chameleon being so overwhelmingly lauded I've been hesitant to post anything about my experience with it. It's just not comfortable for me, to the point of deciding to sell it.

I'll splice up an UCR ridgeline out of amsteel and see if I can find a good lay. The 83% seems to be good for my netted and netless hammocks, maybe this one needs to be replaced.

I’d definitely recommend removing the ridgeline and measuring if you can’t get comfortable (this goes for any gathered end hammock, not just the Chameleon). It’s an easy thing to do, and could result in a quickly revolving your issue. ( Certainly did for me). As Cmc4free mentioned, taking several wraps around a biner can also take up some slack, and is a good “quick fix” for an elongated ridgeline. Good luck!

Since you mentioned above you can't get comfortable in it, try clipping on a biner and wrapping the ridgeline through the biner 5x or more to see if that changes it for the better.

I took it off and spliced it to 108” and will try a hang this weekend. 83% has been good on all my other hammocks so it’s worth a shot. If I need to play around with it I spliced a UCR from Zing-It and will play with ridgeline lengths.

    Measured my Chameleon Ridgeline...

Anyone want to do me a solid and measure how long your Chameleon is, end to end, without continuous loops, ridgeline, or bug net on? Lay it flat, stretch it if needed, and get an end to end measurement.

From what I remember the zipper is 127” so add another 6” and you’ll be very close.
