    UQP question

I'm looking at getting an UQP. I don't see many options our there. Most likely I will get one from 2QZQ. Are there any others I should consider for an 11 foot gathered end hammock?

Like my 2QZQ as well. Works great, has held up well, super well made, and light.

I ordered one from 2QZQ before I saw your post. I did a little more research and it sounds like their UCPs are very well liked. Donna is also a pleasure to do buisness with.

I have a 2QZQ for summer rains and a Dutch ware hammock sock for winter.

I just used mine this weekend with my old HH Explorer UL to make a 2nd layer and keep the bugs off my back. My only "mod" to mine was to sew some loops on the edge to correspond with the pullouts on my HH. I run the shock cords through the loops and then to some stakes. This little bit of extra support keeps the edges from sagging. It's especially helpful when the UQ is on there. It helps sort of "seal" the edges against drafts.

I just went through this process of researching and looking at what was out there and decided to make my own. RSBTR has prices so low there isn't really an alternative - I don't feel like spending north of $60 for essentially fabric. So hang tight and I will post some pics when I finish this bad boy tomorrow or wednesday.

Unfortunately my sewing skills are lacking and I don't have a sewing machine either. The price I paid was south of 60$. Have fun making and using your own. Maybe some day I will try.
