I just ordered the SB for my son and was curious if you could run a ridge line on the inside of the netting, similar to the Blackbird? Anyone out there have one that might have done this to theirs?

You would have to modify the netting to have hole allowing the RL to pass in and out. A member here has done this and it works really well. I forget their name or where the thread is. A small "button hole" would be all it takes but make sure to reinforce the hole or the netting will just continue ripping.

Grizzly Adams did this mod to the SBPro he had. He may have a picture of it in his gallery. The only other way I could think of this being done without putting hole in the netting is to rewhip the ends and add the ridgeline before actually whipping the ends.

I just burned a hole in each end of the netting with a small soldering iron. Be quick or the hole will get larger than you want. My hole was smaller than the cord so "sealed" nicely. This worked for a few years, but due to other modifications I did (I tightened / made smaller) to the netting, the zipper finally gave out after about 500 nights. When I finally replace my old Skeeter Beeter, I won't change the netting,,,,, as much. I will still do the ridgeline mod though, it worked well FOR ME!
