That is very close to my neck of the woods... maybe 20mi away. If we need any bulk supplies, let me know. There’s a Sam’s Club on SR50 I can run to for food, drinks, or any other needs/wants.

Participated in the following events:
HangCon 2018 - 2024, (to be continued...)
For anyone who already knows they want a site closer to the pavilion/raffle/food area and an electric hookup for the additional 25 per day fee please let me know. Some of the sites do have trees that are suitable for hanging.
For those wanting to get a hike in, Green Swamp isn't super close, but I imagine it would not be hard to drive or carpool the 20 miles to a trailhead. Kayaking is available on the Withlacoochee river nearby. I'll try to dig up some links.
With the upgraded facilities, breakfast each morning for everyone is doable and will happen. There will be coffee/cocoa/tea available pretty much 24/7.
Thanks everyone for you understanding and support. Let's make this years HangCon one for the books!

So glad to hear a solution for the camping location has prevailed. Looking forward to Sertoma!
I've stayed their with scouts several times. It's a great campground and had crossed my mind to mention it after reading the "shutdown" post last night. Definitely alot closer to me.
Thank you Timber, Gumbo, and the rest of you guys for pulling this off so smoothly. The rest of us I'm sure will follow suit by also smoothly rolling with the punches. In fact, this may even be a better location overall (with the exception of the cost).
Whoo Buddy, Hangcon on!
Glad to hear the hang is a go.
I am still 18 but with 52 years of experience !
Also there are quite a few paved bike trails in the area as well for those that enjoy the bike life.
This is one of the many reasons why I love these 2 people! Timberrr and Gumbo are some of the most giving and caring people on the face of the planet. Thank you guys.

So many trees, so little time...
Withlacoochee State Trail - Owensboro Junction Trailhead (https://www.floridastateparks.org/pa...ee-state-trail) (Southernmost Point of the trail) is about 8 miles away. The trail is pretty flat the whole 44+ miles north to Citrus Springs. Trail is well maintained and paved, which makes for a nice and easy ride. About 10 miles up the trail you can hit the Florida Trail as it intersects the WST, or park at Silver Lake Campground. You can Also hit the Good Neighbor trail off the WST directly into Brooksville.
