They don't need a handbook. If they say 2+2=5, you better believe it. They love being right all the time even when they're not.

    Any airports hammock friendly?

Well, yeah, that I believe, and top of that, they're not even consistent in what they enforce from one airport to the next. But I'm being a little facetious with the "handbook" comment. Once you're through security, and if you're not posing any sort of threat, I wonder who's left to tell you what you can do with whatever you chose to carry on?

I can see some terminal staff objecting if you were hanging across a path and imposing an obstruction to people moving from one place to another in an emergency. I don't think the airline staff would care much, in any case. As far as I know, there aren't any duty civil engineers waking around to inspect potential anchoring points for "violations." So... especially if you can carry on your packable hammock stand and stay out of the way of people, I can't imagine it would be an issue.

Maybe one of those big air sofas would work.

That’s a good idea, still off the floor though.

One of my funniest memories (of which there were many) from my last Ragnar trail race was watching someone try to inflate one of those. My impression is that they don't work as advertised.

That would be cool. However, I have found that the airport brings out the inner jerk in every living creature. So as soon as you set up that hammock, every adult would want to stand next to you and talk LOUDLY on their cell phone, and every travelling child will want to use you as a pinata. Or something like that...

I’ve hung outside of an airport but never in the terminal. Multiple times, I’ve posted up outside while waiting for a flight. I still carry my ENO Sub 7 with me sometimes in hopes that if I ran into a huge delay, I would be able to kick my feet up between a pole and a chair armrest or something like that.
