I started out with a Walmart hammock and now have a Dutchware Chameleon with a bunch of accessories. I just finished making a 12 foot netless from 1.6 hyper-d and have only had a chance to lay in it for a few minutes. This is a fun hobby with almost infinite "rabbit holes" to jump into.
Go to a group hang and try out everything. Most of us are more than willing to share and you will not go hungry. I went to a local hang just for an afternoon and was greeted like family. There are plenty of really great people in this community that will help you in any way they can.
