Only hike is how far your want to camp away from the parking lot. 100ft-100yds. There are vaulted toilets, but no running water. There is a creek if you want to filter. When you cross the bridge, there is a parking lot to your left. When you turn in the parking lot, you will see a split rail fence adjacent to a grassy area. There are signs that say "No camping", but they are referring to that grassy area. Walk through the fence and enter the tree line. You will see there are camping areas all along the creek. You can camp anywhere in the wooded area. There are several fire rings.

Sounds as if we will have a good group. I plan to hang in the snorers section, lol. I really look forward to some camp fire chat, smoke in my eyes, and tall tales. A cup of good coffee won't hurt. Food is optional, but I choose to eat, probably too much. I plan to get there around noon, maybe earlier if I can. I hope LazyBee brings his pet mountain lion.

I am hoping to leave by noon Friday, should be there by 5. I know it is crazy to drive so far when I have a hang happening just a couple hours away, but honestly the weather looks a bit better there.

My other motive is that my step dad, who will be with me, just had shoulder surgery and I didnt want him putting a pack on it and risking injury. Lol it's hard to hold the man back and he is so used to being on the go, that he is going stir crazy

Another question....is firewood plenty there or should I bring some?

I think we have always gathered downed wood when we have camped there. Even collected some split firewood left by previous campers.
