    RR - your suspension system?

Ridgerunner owners: From the 4 corner buckles >> around the tree and all point in between, what components do you use in your suspension system? Buckles, whoopie slings, continuous loops, daisy chains, beetle buckles, etc ?? Which brands & what materials? Why?

i use the webbing suspension that comes with all WB hammocks i think its the most hassle free setup. i know there are lighter setups and may switch later down the road but i think its an all around great way to hang.

    RR - your suspension system?

I took the WB buckle system off- and the apex buckle. I much prefer to connect the dogbones (kept those on) directly to a Dutch beetle buckle. Sometimes I’ll connect them directly to Dutch’s Mantis using the dyneema daisy chains.

My top reasons for this are number one— in rain, wet straps are more easily separated from the Hammock, you don’t have to run the strap all the way through the cinch buckle. Simply disconnect the dogbones off the beetle buckle or mantis.

Secondly— I feel that I can get in between shorter distance trees with this method. Also, I’m pretty sure I’ve saved some weight going this route over the stock WB suspension..

Dogbones to dutch woopie hook, whoopie sling, huggers.... Improves hanging distance, allows me to share suspension on other hammocks, and finally i needed to use 2in straps to be State Park approved

Same systems I'm contemplating. Which 2" huggers are you using & what length?

Kevlar 5ft.... Dutch didn't have the newer spider 2.0 at the time.

I use the WB cinch buckles, but I added dutch clips and swapped out the apex buckle for dutch biners. Quick to setup, easy to adjust, and the suspension can be removed and stored separately from the hammock.

Dutch cinch buckles to replace the WB ones. The Dutch ones I can easily adjust with one hand and are easy to release. The WB ones were much more of a pain. I've never been enamored with the other dutch hardware. I just went with some inexpensive lightweight climbing rated biners from Amazon for the straps. It's fast, cheap, and hasn't let me down so far.

The corner hardware was covered with heat shrink tubing to keep the pole ends from rubbing on my tarp. However, I've switched to a different tarp and arrangement so this is kind of OBE.

I used the Mountainsmith hiking poles for spreader bars for the last year or so but I'm going back to the WB ones. I may invest in some CF spreaders and get better hiking poles. The weight savings for me didn't make up for the relatively heavy and uncomfortable hiking poles that have now started to corrode like mad on the inside.

I use the stock suspension as it's easy to use and doesn't have parts to misplace.
