How do you folks carry your tarp stakes?

Simple Question right? I am just trying to see what you clever people have come up with.

I just got a HG Journey Tarp ( Gorgeous by the way ) and some HG stakes. I am debating whether to put the stakes with the reflective guy line in one stuff sack and then put that sack in with the tarp sack. Or do you folks completely separate those components to avoid the stakes possibly putting a hole, in the tarp?

Any and all advice is appreciated.

Yep. My stakes reside rolled up inside a folded up garbage sack, placed in the very bottom of my outside pocket. Tarp goes there too, but rolled up in it's own set of snake skins, never in a stuff sack.

I pack the garbage sack just in case, but it usually just babysits my stakes.

Matter of taste. Everyone does it a little different.

I keep mine in a separate bag to keep the dirt off everything else.

I keep mine in a stuff sack, in the outside pocket of my backpack.

Thankfully, I am not one of those people who leaves key components at home, nor do I leave them at the campsite. I know what my key components are:

    Tarp
    Stakes
Hammock & straps, or whoopie slings
    Underquilt
    Topquilt

Each item above is in its own stuff sack so I can easily identify it (I use cuben fiber stuff sacks so the weight is negligible). Before I leave the house, I check to make sure I have the key components, and before I leave the campsite, I check to make sure I'm bringing the key components home.

A simple question, but a good one. I, too, am scared that the stakes would puncture the tarp. I also don't like the idea of (potentially?) abrasive dirt getting on the tarp from the stakes.

My lines are attached to my tarp. The stakes are in their own little pouch they came in, and it all rides in the mesh pocket on my Arc Haul.

I keep my stakes in a mesh bag and place it inside my tarp bag which is also mesh. I don't use stuff sacks for anything. No issues with holes. I like keeping all that that tarp stuff together. The tarp bag is either in the outside pocket of my bag or inside my dry bag in my backpack if its not wet.

I carry tarp stakes in a plastic water or soda bottle. I think they are less likely to puncture other gear. And I usually brush dirt off stakes before packing. Any dirt still on stakes is stuck in bottle.

Grab a tyvek fed ex envelope. Cut it down to size, and use tape to seal it. Done.
Crayons - they might look different, but they all taste the same

Made a small pouch with tyvek and duct tape. Stakes go in there. Then roll up with tarp into snake skins.

Stakes and lines go into a vinyl Shure microphone bag, and that bag gets slipped into the part of my backpack that's designed for a hydration bladder. I put my CCF sit pad in there with it. Keeps those items out of my way.
