Being far inland and really busy lately, I hadn't caught a lot of the details on the outlook for the Hurricane and didn't realize that the threat had become so severe. I really hope you and the team all stay safe.

Stay safe. When Irma came through last year, it looked like it was going to be wiped off the map as late as 18 hours before it made landfall... and it ended up bringing nothing more than some wind and rain. Many of us didn't even lose power. Hopefully Florence will be as considerate. Good luck!

I hit Trophy on Maywood on the way home last night - plenty of beer as usual, and the Asian market had tons of ramen so I'm well supplied. Got a coffee at Harris Teeter this morning and there were a dozen people looking for water, and while I'm not really expecting to lose water, filling up a couple 5g buckets from the tap seemed like a decent plan to me.

Stay safe, everybody, and good on RSBTR putting employees safety first.

I wonder what's wrong with their tap water? Good call on the buckets...doesn't hurt.

    You could fill the bathtub.
Remember if you lose water you also gotta have something to flush with.

We have a creek behind our cabin.
    I collect vintage camp stoves.
    I roast coffee at home.

I live in Central Georgia and was scared to death by little ole 60 mph winds last year from Irma.Fla was hit with 120 mph wind which is what is headed for the Carolinas now. They are predicting 50 mph for Macon area on Sunday.10 million people will be affected or have already evacuated the Carolinas.I would run if I lived on the coast as I cant imagine living thru 120 mph winds. And then there's the potential for tornadoes.........

Prepared as I can be here. Not expecting it as bad as the southeastern part of NC. Generator is ready.
    Straight out of Clayton.

Most physical hike: Grandfather Mountain, NC. Aug 13.

I don't need to make my pack lighter. I need to make my (_*_) lighter.

I have a 55 gallon rain barrel that is filled by my gutter down spout, don't take long to fill when it rains. Being on a well I don't have water if the electricity fails.

Ya'll play it safe and get out of dodge if you need too. We rode out Hurricane Irma last year here in west central Florida. Power went out about 9:30 pm and the eye passed over head about 1:15 am. We had 90-100 mph before the eye reached us.

When we lose power, we too lose the well.
We have a creek, a 250 gallon container that is fed by the creek, and we keep over 25 gallons in containers.
