    Thank you Otter! I cant take all the credit - the wife brought up some important observations along the way. Mads pretty sharp too! Our Alaska trip really showed us what works/doesnt work and what can be improved a bit. Stopping the cold wind and ventilation is more important than many think.

    Bringing back this thread from last year because I finally got the chance to deploy the sock I made based on JTaylor design. I'm happy to report that it worked beautifully, both in the categories of ease of use, versatility, and effectively blocking wind.

    The temperature was just above freezing and breeze was gusty at 15 mph max. It had rained that morning, but the next day was dry with blue skies. I had no condensation.

    One thing I failed to consider is that it blocks the morning sun and therefore I slept in until 9:30.
