That's clever. Makes me wonder what other kinds of things are in the future for hammock designs that we haven't even yet considered.

Ronstan is not available in Canada. Maybe if Dutch ordered a few thousand he could bundle them as a kit with the other materials needed.
Any other suppliers for the Ronstan in Canada?

I just used the ronstan cause I liked the size & the weight. You can go to any kayak / sailing store & find these type of pulleys . I believe harken was a name of another pulley company that you can look up. Reach out to pelican kayaks as I’m sure if you are having trouble ask them you need pulleys for an anchor trolley & they will direct thy path

I just absolutley love what Short Round has done here so much that I decided to try and make a "Light Rail Trolley" version to better suit my needs. The main difference is cord and pulley choice.
This uses 20' of 1.18mm micro cord, 2x Ronstan shock blocks, 2x mitten hooks, 1x pull cord and 2x loops.
All together weighing in at 14 grams and is removable from hammock. The shock blocks are anodized aluminum made for boats/kites and works considerably better than biners.
The shaveless shock blocks work pretty smooth considering they have no pulley, weigh 2 grams each and break at 770lbs; albeit won't be under that type of load.
Thoughts?

I'm liking those Ronstan blocks a whole lot more than using sewing machine bobbins when a pulley is needed.
How long before Dutch adds them to his offerings?
low friction rings are very popular in sailing. good to see them used elsewhere
