Ha.... go figure. My wife and I decided to do a night hike up to Lake Serene (about 8-miles & 2000ft of climb) after I posted this. It has been raining a couple days but with headlamps, and rain gear we had a Friday night date climb.

On the way down a tree decided to "let-go" and came crashing down the mountain. I have no idea how big it was...sounded like a freaking freight train and we ran in the opposite direction. After we were sure everything fell that was going to fall, we made our way down the trail and whatever let-go went right on down the slope across the trail. Our visibility was limited to maybe 20' but we could smell that freshly cut tree smell as we crossed the projectile's path.

One of those "oh-****" moments for sure.
