Hopeville Pond Campground has very hammock friendly sites although it does get crowded, especially on the weekends. Lots of easy short day hikes from there. Mount Misery and Green Falls are a bit more out of the way and have TON's of hiking of all different distances/levels.

The state campgrounds at Green Falls and Mount Misery were also open this year by reservation only. These spots are my go to locations for short hikes.

I live in Avon, CT and am an avid hammock camper (e.g. 32 nights during the 2018 season).
I'm also interested in meeting other hikers & hammockers.

Be sure to pick up a copy of The Connecticut Walk Book. Years worth of hiking in there, maps of every blue blazed trail in the state, plus the AT.

Not too many of us in CT. That's why I hook up with the NEHHA group. They are the most active campers in the northeast. Just gotta put up with all the Mass-hole riff raff's

If you guys want we could do a mini hang at webb mountain. Memorial day to Nov 1st, and only 10 sites. It's permit only, $25 per night up to 5 people and 2 cars, if you pay an additional $10 you can have 10 people on each site. I live 4 miles from there, just let me know, in advance so I can secure the permits. It only has a hand pump for water and porta-potty's. Some very nice hiking trails from the campsite, you can also hike to Stevenson dam for some fishing! (CT fishing permit required)

I resemble that remark about Mass-holes. And I thought you were my friend. I will go and crash your little hang, so there. sounds like a nice place at Webb mountain. let me know if you do it and if there is room for me.

I'm in SE CT and would be in for a group hang. There are also several options for overnight hikes. I'm close to Green Falls and the Narragansett trail.
