Between road closures due to flooding ect, curfews, no power, downed lines and trees, road and bridge damage ect it was hard for people to get around down here and I heard that the news crews had problems trying to get here.It seems like once it passed we no longer get news from the area

You didn't get any flooding in your home? Seems like Beaufort would have gotten hammered, since New Bern did. Is your home elevated?

Sorry that you lost so much food and other damage. Sounds like it's not as bad as it could have been for you there but bad enough.

We lucked out in that while the area around our house flooded it did not come into our garage. Our house is about 3+ feet off the ground. New Bern got all the attention as the news crews could get there and report on it. Parts of Morehead look like a war zone. Have not even gone into Beaufort yet. I have some dash cam video I have to review and see if any of the damage shows up.
The Terminator will not be able to make it as she lost too much time from work. I am hoping to make it but will not know until Thursday.Are you still gonna make it to Grayson or will you need to stay home and hold down the fort?
Have started fun part ( calling insurance companies to file claims ). At least I am getting a check for the food we lost ( 2 freezers full and the fridge ) as we were without power for 10 days. Have to wait to hear on claim for roof damage and water damage in house.

Prayers that the insurance covers everything. I have read so many stories that during times like this, they balk at the payouts.
