UP insulation now available at Dutchware

We have been working on a synthetic loose fill insulation for some time now. If any of you belong to the Dutchware Anonymous Facebook group, you will know there was a very lengthy conversation about it. We rejected all of our early attempts because they didn't perform like we had hoped. This is a lengthy process of sampling and making quilt so see the weight and how it conforms to the body. We finally have a winner. It isn't Down, it is UP. Nothing to this date can match high fill power down for light, insulation properties and compress-ability. But there are reasons people don't want to use down. Climashield is a fine alternative however there is one area that is lacks. It has a hard time conforming to the hammock or the body as wella s all other batten insulation. Up is a loose fill that acts like down. You will need to make baffles and it is really helpful if you use a differential cut on your quilt.
I am proud to offer this to our vendors and to the DIY community. It is comparable to 600 fill down. It is really inexpensive and it works when it is wet at only $7 for a 3 ounce bag.

How is this for clumping or compressing and migrating to one side or end of a baffle? Down fluffs back up and is easily redistributed with a little shaking. Does this material ask similarly?

It kind of looks like the Lofttek (TM) material Outdoor Vitals started using in their quilts/bags a few months ago.

I'm looking to plan a top quilt with this product. Do I need to plan to overstuff the baffles?

Could anyone give a suggestion as to how many ounces to use for a 0 degree full length, regular width underquilt? I was thinking 30 oz, but I could be way off.

This looks interesting. How does it go under compression? Ie, if its being compressed under the body does it stay as warm as down?
