Fabric recommendations for DIY hammock

Well, there are a lot of stressed areas on the fabric after almost 8 years. Not bad for $1.50/yard Walmart ripstop nylon.

All together, I guess there is enough "ventilation" on both sides to catch a good breeze.

I have made a few hammocks using the 1.7 oz RObIC XL from RSBTR and I love the feel of it. The colors I have used come in 74" width which makes a nice wide hammock.

We just used this for one of our students who wanted a hammock for his birthday. Absolutely one of the nicest fabrics I’ve laid in and very easy to sew.

Made a GE hammock for a friend with 1.7 Robic. Of course, I field-tested it in the backyard. Love it. Just the right amount of stretch and the fabric feels wonderful. Liked it so much, I ordered some 1.7 Robic for myself but I haven't sewn it yet. Try the Robic 1.7. If you don't like it, one of your friends will surely be happy to take it off your hands.
