Hi, I have a Superfly which I've used for years, but I've been seriously considering sending my tarp in for a 2qzq center pole mod. I'd prefer two end pole mods, but they only do the center pole. I've even considered at some point buying a UGQ Winter Dream hammock, 12' with the end pole mods and the door with the nice snaps, but I like my Superfly so much that it seems excessive to get a second tarp, plus it wouldn't be in the budget for a while anyway.
So, my question is, can you get a floating porch mode from a center mod? By which I mean, you don't need to stake out pull-outs- you just stake out the bottom ties like you normally would, but with a much longer line so that the pole can pull the tarp up into a porch mode on its own. This is what I mean:

Can you do the same thing with the center pole mod? I know you get that with the end pole mods. There are external pole mods you can use (like from Dutchware), where you tie your pull-outs to poles that rest above/on the tarp, but the tarp shape that you get isn't as good for shedding wind/rain, particularly since I use a split ridge and so the poles would be resting on the top of my tarp and creating indents, rather than a nice tunnel shape.
Anyone have any personal experience with this? I've tried to research it and have come up with a tentative answer of "maybe?" so I'd love to hear from someone who has first-hand experience with the center pole mod.
