Idea: Eno Roadie + Hammaka stand, greater than the sum of the sum of their parts?

I don't own either the Eno Roadie or the Hammaka hitch stand, since they look too short for a good camping hammock. But what if they were used together? Put the Roadie on the front wheels and then, instead of then only having the span to the back wheels, take the other end to Hammaka stand, which extends a few feet from the back of your vehicle? Anyone have either of these that can comment on feasibility?

i think that the sideways tension on the hitch stand would end up being a problem

Do you think it will damage the hitch itself? Or Is it the hitch stand arms getting pulled backwards (towards the front of the vehicle) that would be the weak point?

the hitch itself I would think would be fine (depending on how it's mounted)

it'd more be the all the sideways tension on the arms of the stand pulled a completely different direction than they were built to withstand

I'm not totally surprised by your response. Back to the drawing board. Maybe I'll look into the possibility of pole extensions for the Rodie that will get the ends higher, wider, and farther away from the vehicle.

i honestly think you're better off looking at real hammock stand, since you're car camping anyway
