    Great Divide Trail

    Hey All,

My wife and I just wrapped up a hike of the Great Divide Trail. I am not sure if any one has used a hammock in this past on this trail. We hammocked every night of the five week hike and had no problem finding good hangs.

The GDT traverses through the Canadian Rockies through a series of Provincial and National Parks (notably Banff and Jasper). It is more of a route than a trail (navigation skills very helpful), and I would categorize the hike as having a pretty wide variety of terrain from highly strenuous to moderate.

Per usual, we have a daily journal of the trip on our site:

Is that a grizzly(4th pic down)? Also, awesome pics. I have seen a few other trail updates on this trail and it looks like it should be on the bucket list.

Indeed it was. We ran into a couple guys who had done grizzly research up in Alaska and showed them the video - they were pretty sure it was a grizzly.
