The Trek: Thru-Hiking the Pacific Crest Trail with a Hammock

Hey guys. After my recent PCT thru hike I was able to put together information I was able to figure about hammock camping the Pacific Crest Trail. The link is below. I didn't want to copy and paste the article because there are tons of pictures and embedded links that may provide more info for readers.

    https://thetrek.co/pacific-crest-tra...c-crest-trail/

If you have time, give it a read. As usual I'd love to hear any comments or feedback. This group gave me a lot of information before the trail and I used that to successfully finish the trail in a hammock and will hopefully use it to get more hammock folks out on the trail.

    Happy Hanging!

Great article. If I were doing this through hike I think I would have carried a tent through the desert and switched out to my hammock for the rest of the trail for weight savings and to not have to do the extra miles hunting for trees. The good news is that it's doable and I would have never imagined that.

Excellent article, Sir. I’ve been considering adding a NeoAir short to my arsenal for just such trips, I’m glad to hear it worked well for you.

    Thank you for sharing!

No need to knock out the AT first, they are both excellent trails.

Yeah there was time in the desert where I got pretty familiar with going to ground but with the excellent weather in the Desert tarping it on the ground wasn't horrible but theres a reason this type of shelter system is mostly used by the more seasoned hikers. I actually talked to at least one other person who used a tent for the first section and then switched out for the rest of the trail and he said it worked great.

As long as you can keep the neo air from getting a hole they work great. thanks for reading.
