I got bit by the backpacking bug when I was in my teens. For years I was a ground dweller, met my wife and we traveled several adventures together, always on the ground. We stopped going out after our son was born. A few years ago I had a coworker who was a hanger and peaked my interest in the topic. A few months ago my son asked if we could camp in the backyard. I have a 4-man tent and figured why not. Well I caught the bug and my son got it as well. We spend our free days out in the woods in South West Ohio and camp in the tent. Till a few weeks ago when I realized my body was taking longer to recover. I remembered that co-worker and asked for his quick advice. He recommended I come here for research, I only partly listened. Didn't spend long researching before I bought my first hammock.
I bought myself a Warbonnet Elderado with a Minifly. I did listen to him and made sure I got a woopie suspension (nice stuff). Tested it out over this weekend and had the best sleep outdoors ever. I have watched every Shug video on the topic over the past few weeks (thank you Shug, your knowledge has proven invaluable).
All I know is that I love hanging and that I still have so much more to learn from this community. So happy I was pointed to come here.
Thanks,
EmFalcon
