“Keep that foot elevated!“. That’s the last thing my doc said when I left his office in a hard cast, the result of a fall five months earlier when an extension ladder came apart beneath me. I might not be doing much camping or putting on many miles in the woods right now, but I can still hang! A hammock seems the natural way to go when you’re told to keep your foot up.

I’ve found that the ladders on the back of most RVs are plenty solid for one end of a hammock. I put my tree strap around a short stick of pipe and allow that to span both rails of the ladder, just above one of the steps. Also works well at a campground when there’s a tree within reach.
