Trigger Clamps for Anchors to Beams

Has anyone tried heavy duty Stanley (600 lb jaw pressure) trigger bar clamps for anchoring their hammock suspension lines to lean-to beams (generally 8x8)? Hoping for a non destructive anchor method. The lean-tos are so tightly constructed that going around the vertical beams with straps is not possible. Are the physics of the load simply going to pull the clamps free?

I wouldn't trust these to bear weight. Maybe if they were used only to keep a non-cinched strap from sliding down a post... but even then, I'd be wary. Jaw pressure is NOT a weight capacity.

I don't know what your horizontal beam looks like, but I've used these (rated 800 lbs) in full-body-weight applications with confidence:

I wouldn't trust the first picture. I might, testing testing, trust LARGE C clamps depending on the direction of pull..
