Which brand and model trekking poles would people recommend for this?
I知 currently overweight and slowly losing it, at 100kg 221lbs. I知 planning to go down to about 85kg 188lbs but it will take a while.
I壇 prefer not to need (wood) dowels if I can avoid it.
I値l appreciate the advice.

This is really cool! Thanks for sharing and for all the photos!
Finally! I saw this post when it first started and have been looking ever since. I like this idea, not for sleeping off of. Although if it works... perfect. I like this for a hammock chair. I wonder if hanging one end high on a tree and the other to the trekking polls collapsed down a bit, would make for a type of 2T hammock chair....?
People tend to compartmentalize themselves into IT people, and movie star people, and scientists, but when we share our perspectives about nature, we find a common denominator.

First off,
IKK you are my hero!
Second,
I am working an idea for a no tree solution. I have been watching this video over and over,
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JiRD71IC3yE
That guy made a double bipod solution using pvc pipes and wood! Plus he doesn't look like a light weight.
I am actually thinking to use hospital elbow crutches. They are very strong and weigh about 250g each. They usually collapse to about 60cm long and extend to 1 meter with the plastic bits sawed off.
What I am wondering now that I see this is, would collapsable folding trekking poles instead of telescopic poles work better?
Most collapsable poles fold up to 35cm (easier to pack) and I would imagine not telescope down due to weak locking mechs/clips/flicks...
Thanks in advance for insights, I am not a trekking pole expert.
