put on suspension rope. add a hose to protect both the rope and trekking pole from friction when swing.

    Very nice! Great pictures too!
    May I ask:
    * How long is your hammock?
    * The "triangle" formed by the poles appears to be completely vertical. Is that accurate?
    * How tall is the "triangle" formed by the poles?
    Thank you.

Very clever! This would work well with a car too, allowing anyone to set up anywhere with gear they already have. Fantastic.

I have hanged with several different length of hammock, from 6 feet to 10 feet. every one is OK.
the highest point of poles is (0.25 x the length of hammock)+(the lowest point of hammock from ground)
for a 10 feet hammock with 1feet the lowest point
the highest point of poles is about (0.25 x 10) +1=3.5 feet

man, that's a ridiculously great in a pinch setup

like, it's just a teeny bit extra to toss in the pack in the event you can't find a second tree. obviously it's not going to help with a tarp, but in a pinch it'd do

Brilliant, very nicely done. I'll be trying to duplication your solution.
Crayons - they might look different, but they all taste the same

When I tried to do the same, I found the click locks on my Black Diamonds were not strong enough, the sections slipped (even with them super-tightened).
Measured dowel rods inside the aluminium sections are a way to prevent the sections telescoping.
