Storage Options for inside the hammocks

Hello all. I've been looking at the various types of storage options for inside and outside of the hammocks. One thing my wife and I missed in Alaska were more pockets for storage of gloves, socks, shirts, etc. We already had the outside mini hammock for the muddy boots/backpacks and such, but really wanted something else for the inside. In the winter we do not use the side pulls at all, so we wanted something to parallel the ridgeline instead of something outside like a saddlebag on each side. I sewed up some pocket mesh (for strength and breathability) for the head end to hold socks, gloves, head covers (wet/sweaty gear), measuring 16 inch long by 8 inch deep. Attached by prussics to the ridgeline it can be moved back and forth and even pushed all the way to the hammock end when not used. The foot end I decided to make a pocket 1.1 breathable nylon rectangle 36 inches long by 13 inches deep for everything from jackets, snow pants, etc. Both pockets have shock cord along the top edges to help keep the stuff inside. The foot pocket is attached with prussics also so it can slide back and forth also.

Everything fits without bumping into them even loaded up and both pockets can be pushed into the ends out of the way when not being used.

Thanks. I know storage options are limited unless you go outside the hammock, but this is all I could think of for now. The wife likes it (which is all that REALLY matters).

I should mention that it took about an hour to make 2 sets - very straight forward sewing job.

Thanks - its a very simple project. The only problem is finding the best size for your hammock. I didnt think I would like it at first, but once I loaded them up and found I still have plenty of room I gave myself a thumbs up. The wife gave me some ice cream - even better!

Thank you MAD777! I forgot that both pockets weigh 2.3 oz together.

Smckinney0031 - Did I hear your sewing machine calling? Better answer! Ok - your sewing machine wants you to use it. It's lonely in the closet............

Much more elegant than my noob solution: draping stuff loose over the SRL, as if I were sleeping under a clothesline....

Im very familiar with draping clothes, water/beer bottles/food and assorted things from and on the ridgeline. These mini-me hammocks work wonderfully and are completely out of the way or close by if needed. They actually can hold quite a bit of weight - I put a 16lb bag of cat food in the larger one and it held it with no problems - so if I ever need a 16lb bag of cat food in the wild, I know it can handle it! The wife wants a pair of Siberian Forest cats and as big as they are, I might have to carry the cat food for them - or train them to pull a sled.
