I am from Corvallis. I love the PCT from Ashland to Cascade Locks. Loads of hanging on The Rogue and Illinois River trails.
There is a Jan 18-20 Yeti hang at Frog Lake on Mt Hood.

Another from the ‘Couve. Mostly section hiking the PCT in Washington. Had my first two hammock trips last year, just added a WB XLC. Serenaded by bugling elk north of chinook pass every night as I drifted off in my hammock. Sublime.
Yeah. Mid Willamette Valley here. Lotsa good stuff in the Oregon Cascades - pick a trail and you’ll find good hammocking- unless you’re summiting a volcano.

DOWNTOWN BROWN!!!!
Hi Everyone, I was inspired to start hammock camping after watching the boys in my son's scout troop at summer camp in Idaho. I started with a very simple setup -- an ENO doublenest with a basic tree strap and caribiner setup. Since it was summer, I used a sleeping pad to protect me from cold underneath and a sleeping bag. Last year, I hammock camped at Lake Wenatchee with the "old guys" patrol as a part of a scout camping trip. It was 30 degrees -- so not too cold -- but many of the other dad's were frozen because they were in tents on the ground. I had purchased an under quilt and did great is the cold. I've also hammock camped on part of the Baker Lake trail as a part of a backpacking trip and had an awesome time. I can't wait to get out there and do it again! Would be cool if we had a Pacific Northwest Butt Hang like the videos I've seen posted recently by The Marine and Shug. Take care, Everyone!
I have set up a group hang up at Deception Pass April 5-7th. Hope to see everyone there
Well howdy, y’all!! I can’t tell ya how much this thread warms my hammocking heart!! So many fine folks in our neck-o-the-woods! And more new folks/friends every day! RAD!!
With so many trees in so many different landscapes, our PNW is a special place. I second the Enchanted Valley. The coast has many great spots. And our mountains are stunning. The Columbia Gorge and surrounding area. Bend. Painted Hills. I can go on and on!
DFab and I are hanging over in Camas,WA. We have kayaks (I highly recommend Timothy Lake for kayak-hang’ee fun) and Sophie, my Taco, gets us pretty much anywhere we have a hankerin’ to explore or jump off from.
Hit me up if you wanna try a particular hammock out. And work permitting, I hope to get out way more this year (will keep ya posted on that)!
Hope to see y’all out there. Happy hangin’!!
