Seattle here.
New to hammocks, I’ve been hammock camping a few months now - no possibility of gong back to or perhaps ever sleeping in a tent again. After I spent my first night in hard rain in a hammock and remained completely dry that was it!
I would really enjoy connecting with others on some trips and finding new places in WA to hang.
So far, my favorites are Salt Creek and Ozette, both on the Peninsula. SC is GREAT for car camping - you just drive up and you are right there with lots of trees, restrooms, great sites, and incredible views. I just can’t get enough of Ozette - I’ve only camped at Wedding Rocks so far, but want to explore Alava and Sand Point as well. Next summer, I plan on coast hiking from Ozette to Rialto Beach.
For me, it’s all about the View from the Hammock.

Looking forward to exploring more of our incredibly beautiful state.

Freestone?? I had NO idea you were on here! I'll have to warm up the e-mtb and go get a license. Pretty dry still for grouse. Gonna be difficult to lure A.D. Mumbles away from his new "throne of power"
Beautiful place to hang... Is that by Lapush?
Those are gorgeous hang spots!
Seems like Ozette is one of the options available for snow-free winter hangs too... hmm...
Hmmmm indeed! . No fires allowed out there, but there are pits at Wedding rock so perhaps that is the only exception. Easy to get spots this time of year, I’m sure you would have the entire place to yourself. Even late summer, not many folks there.
A sunny week like this would be a nice trip.
Go to Cape Alava if you want a fire. Fires are prohibited between Wedding Rocks and Yellow Banks (around the point south of Sand Point).
I don't know if I've posted in here before but I'm in WA and have been hanging for a good decade now. Started with a Hennessy Hammock years ago and have progressed into more advanced setups. Anyone have any plans on doing some annual hangs like they have out on the East Coast? I know a few people out that way and am attending some of the NE Hangs this year. I think we need to arrange something this year and get a good group hang going.
