2 inch Straps, how do people use them?

I have needed to use 2 inch straps most of the time here in TX. I use a home made seatbelt strap, about 5 feet with loops sewn on each end and I larks head my Beetle Buckle Suspension to one or both loops depending on three size. How do others use them?

I usually carry a pair of whoopie slings with whoopie hooks as a backup or just in case item.

On the occasions that I've had to use 2" straps, I simply larkshead the slings with hook onto the 2" straps and use the hook to connect to the continuous loops of the hammock.

I honestly hadn't considered connecting the 1" and 2" straps together before. I imagine this is handy since you can still make use of the Beetle Buckles.

When I'm using webbing suspension, I do the larks head of the 1" strap to the 2" tree hugger.

On my whoopie sling rigs, I'll either run a marlin spike hitch off the 2" tree huggers or if the tree diameter is larger I might run the 2" strap through the loop on the other end and then hook a climbing rated biner to connect my whoopie sling.

The option for large diameter trees is to larks head my 1" tree hugger to the 2" one then do my marlin spike on the 1" section.

I use them on every tree but I also just lash my supplied suspension as directed by Hennessy. All stock works for me.

I wrap the 2 inch around the tree then connect to 1 inch with a carabiner. I always clip my Velcro wrap into the carabinier also so I don't lose it.

Let's me use the beetle buckles and easy to slide strap up around a branch if needed. A couple more grams than a knot but easy least lemon squeezy.

I use them pretty much like you, Lebreton, but with amsteel UCRs larksheaded to the loops on the 2" huggers.

I've been using 2" Kevlar 5' long huggers lately because I'm going somwhere that requires them (Baxter SP, ME).

I attached 7/64" amsteel to one of the hugger loops and either feed it all thru the other loop or, with a smaller tree, tie the tail of the hugger using a buntline hitch. No slippage using J-Bend to attach the amsteel line to the amsteel CLs.

Thanks for the replies, I plan to check out several ways others do it at the Texas Group Hang in November but wanted to get a head start on info.

I've been using Warbonnet's 1'' 12' webbing with buckles in Texas, but think that I should go with 2'' instead (especially when car camping). I'm considering 2'' 4' tree huggers along with 1'' 8' and 12' tree straps.

I'll either use the Becket hitch or J-Bend directly to the continuous loops. If additional length is required, the tree straps can be larksheaded to the tree huggers.

EDIT: If whoopie slings or UCRs are lighter than the 1'' carbon fiber tree huggers, then I might consider that instead.

Carbon fiber tree huggers... those are new to me. Do you have a link or a google-able brand name?
