Yet another from North Georgia(ish)

I have been browsing this forum occasionally as a non-member for a couple years, but finally joined a few weeks ago. I have learned a bunch in a hurry now that I am really digging in and reading. I have saved myself from a few mistake purchases already. Anyway, I realized that I never did the intro.

I am living in the suburbs of metro Atlanta (NW Cobb). I've been in Georgia for 22 years, but grew up in Michigan. I camp a lot with our family and with the BSA. I have been a leader since my son started as a Tiger back in 2013. He is now a 2nd Class.

After my most recent uncomfortable hot humid night in a tent back in July, I decided I wasn't doing that again if I could help it. I've been toying with the idea of hammock camping for two years and have finally decided to do something about it. I have a Trail Lair on order and am looking forward to some more comfortable nights in the woods.

Welcome from South Atlanta (Fayette) and a fellow Scouter! My oldest started as a Tiger in 2007. He's about to sit for his Eagle Board of Review. My youngest is Star, working on Life. All of my Scout nights for the past several years have been in a Clark NX-270 and I haven't missed the ground yet.
