One more thing, with the draumer xl, what is the minimum distance between trees? (just curious!)
FYI: If you want to know what type a certain bear is, sneak up behind it and kick it. Then,
run like crazy and climb up a tree. If the bear climbs the tree and eats you, it's a black
bear. If the bear just pushes the tree over and eats you, it's a grizzly bear : )

Do not walk behind me, for I may not lead. Do not walk ahead of me, for I may not follow. Do not walk beside me, either, just leave me alone.

you can make the Draumr fit in under 9 feet, but you need a bit more if you want a tarp (then the distance will be decided by your tarp)

    XL or 3.0

So, what do you think? I'm 6' 185lbs. I broke my back in '93 and am miserable on the ground, so I've been using a hammock for years.

    This has me intrigued.

Is there XL "better" in your opinion?

I think both are the same design now.
You may be fine with the regular Draumr.

Thanks. I like the option to use higher r-rated pads with the "regular" since Minnesota gets pretty cold.

yeah, if you don't need the length of the XL, you've got a TON more options with the regular size.

there's been a few trips where I'd wished I had a pad with much less insulation, but generally the synmat 9 has been great for me.

Jonas made a video last year I think, where he tried a bunch of different pads, and got some surprising (to me) results with pads I assumed wouldn't have worked

Took my daughter out in her 3.0 Saturday evening. I took the xl. Man I love these things.

nice! how are you liking the new upper shelf/shoe garage?

I can't imagine sticking my boots/shoes up there, but it seems like a good spot for a bag of oreos

not that i hike with oreos......just saying
