Since I just spent a few hundred dollars on a complete Draumr 3.0 kit this year and since it is in perfectly good shape and I like it I will not be getting the XL any time soon. However, I am looking forward to the comments and reviews! A few comments of my own:

First about the 3.0. I like this hammock more each time I take it out. It is easy to hang, comfortable and I believe very well made. At 6' 1" 190 lbs. I have plenty of room. When I lay on my back my pillow does a nice job of keeping the bug net off my face. When I'm curled on my side I'm much shorter so no problem.

Second, on hammock camping in general. I just started hammock camping this past April. A few weeks ago I was in the Adirondacks hanging about 25 feet from a beautiful lake. The branches were situated in a way that I was able to tie the front of my tarp to a height of about 5 feet. (super porch mode?) I had the bug net zipped up and all night fresh cool air moved across the hammock. When I woke up I was looking at the water and a patchwork of green at the opposite shoreline. I doesn't get much better than that! I'm not going to get rid of my tent, I just don't know when I'll use it again.

Looking forward to those XL comments and reviews!

My foremost curiosity is about the netting change to be over the ridgeline...
Does this help get the net up off your face, etc?
Does it make the interior seem roomier?

I really like the idea of being able to use the ridge for a HangTimeHook and organiser. [I strung a "faux" ridgeline from the side pouches to give me something for small stuff and my fan in my 3.0... you stretch it across once you are in]

Has anyone had a smaller friend try out their protoz?
Is it TOO long for "regular" sized folks... ie. hard to get in and out?

I gotz moolah burnin' a hole in my pocket, and don't want to miss the discount if I'm gonna end up wanting one anyway...

First, yes it definitely does a great job of keeping the net off your face. Since it goes over the ridge line it helps!

Being able to hang stuff on the ridge line is so cool. My iPad Pro hangs they with the case I have on it.

I had a person of lesser height sleep a night in mine. He was blown away at the room. He had less trouble getting in and out of this one than the 3.0.

And overall I’d say it’s roomier for all the right reasons!

Does it make the interior seem roomier? Yes it does as the whole rig seems more spacious.

Regarding the bug net, I also noticed that they added the ability to insert a stick or small pole in the head end of the hammock which seems to do a good job at keeping the bug net out of your face.

I've been looking at/contemplating adding this simple modification to my 3.0

currently I just use my pillow to push it back. the original intent of the shock cord there was (i think) to tie it out to your tarp, to add the tension to keep it back, but that's just not feasible with how the hammock moves while getting in/out

I'm in. $280 for the whole package is too good a deal for me to pass up. I liked the Amok 3.0 but thought it was a bit small. But at a 30% discount, if the XL doesn't work out, I can always resell it on HF. Also, Amok has a 30 day return policy.

One thing that really impresses me with Amok is the enthusiasm of the people who design it. I get the sense that they really enjoy the work that they do. Not many people can say that.

Anyway, looking forward to next April.
