    Lawson goodies arrived!!

I got in on a couple new or improved Lawson Equipment products and they arrived today! I needed a game of 50' of their Glowire to finish rigging up our guest tarp and put on my wife's tarp plus I scored four of their super light Bar Tensioners and I couldn't resist their new Hungry Fish Cord Winder!

Honestly, I make handline fishing jig sticks for icefishing which are basically the same thing, but this Hungry Fish Cord Winder is way lighter than the wood ones I make!! I love it! I rigged it all up with the Glowire and then realized I could slip the Bar Tensioners on there for safe keeping too!

Oh, that's 50' of Glowire on there. Forgot to mention that. 100' would fit easily if needed.

Would you do me a big favor if you have a minute? Tie a few knots/rub the line together over your floor or table and see if it does this when hit with a flashlight:

I might sound like an OCD maniac, but this stuff is ALL over my basement and gear.

Is that Glowire or is that Niteyez cordage? Just curious.

The reason I ditched the Niteyez reflective cord is because it is "picky". I don't like it. I never noticed it flaking but it doesn't surprise me if it does. You can't feel the reflective tracer in the Glowire. I rubbed it together a bit pretty hard and nothing happened. When I get a minute I'll grab some of our old Niteyez green stuff and see if it does that.

It's from dutchware, but I think that's the same Glowire? Not sure.

It depends on when it was purchased. Dutch did sell Lawson's Glowire for a while (last year maybe?), but moved over to a different variety.

I like the small plastic Niteize figure 9s. Unfortunately I can only find them as a "tent guyline kit", so I buy the set for $10 and ditch the green rope. Yeah, it's horrible. It stratches like a rubber band. If that wasn't bad enough, the tracer is very obvious like you said. Very rough and bumpy feel to it. A taunt line hitch or any kind of sliding knot in that stuff is downright nasty. But there's absolutely NO tracer shedding with it.

Yikes that would be a deal breaker for me. Thanks for making me aware of this issue.
