    Big Bill is here

    Hey everyone.
My handle is Big Bill. I've done 2 hangs so far with my wife and friends. One was at John Rock where I had a little accident. Yes I'm that guy. H hanging is the best, it's so much more fun than getting off the hard ground 3 times a night. There Athenawise, Tacoma and my other friends I joined and I posted

Hey I grew up in Huntington. Still have most of my family there. Where do you camp in the area? What are the rules for hammock's in the state parks if you know?

I haven't hammock camped locally yet. I usually head up to Michigan to backpack when I go. I'm not sure of the rules but you should be able to hang at a designated campsite just fine. I don't see why not, but my past experience with Indiana DNR properties are that the unwritten rules will vary from property to property. One place you might want to check out is the Bloodroot Trail at Salamonie. I haven't been down there yet, but some of the HF members in our area do. Little hike in and about as close to backpacking as you'll get in our part of the state.
