Dutch's BBB Rating

There is a thread on Facebook about Dutch by a disgruntled customer. While nobody knows the whole story from a social media post, one fact that came up is that as a result of one customer complaint, Dutch has a D+ rating with the BBB. I just went to the bbb.org web site and left a 5 star review for Dutch. If you feel this D+ BBB rating doesn't reflect what Dutch has done for the hammocking community and many of us personally, please do the same and take the time to rate Dutchware Gear.

I love the fact that dutch replied to her in the post, he did what she wouldn't do, and that was to post a picture of the tear in her hammock!

Can someone post the pertinent info here re the complaint? (The picture and Dutch's response.) I don't do Facebook.

I certainly will give Dutch a 5 star for all he's done for me!

Glad you brought this up. I left a 5-star post in honor of this summer's best ever camping, thanks to Dutchware.

I have searched and it looks like the post has been removed.

The complaint was that a woman was gifted a chameleon from her daughter as a bday gift.

She said she hung it, got in, it was too low, so she got out and rehung it and when she got out 5 minutes later, there was a hole in it. She did not post a picture even after being asked....and she called Dutch. "DUTCHY"

She said he refused to work with her and give her money back.

Dutch responded by posting a picture sent by her showing the tear, located in the bottom of the hammock and explained that he was not given the chance to make it better by repairing or replacing it, that she automatically demanded her money back.

Another user posted a video of attempts to damage the same material. After the demonstration it was very much clear it was a puncture of some kind. The woman attempted to bad mouth dutch and all the rest of those on the post. According to her we are "duppies" whatever that is!

Dutch is great. The BBB is a scam and it's outrageous that one bs rating like this can take down a great business like Dutch. I gave Dutch a 5 star review. As for the fraud BBB, check this article out... http://business.time.com/2013/03/19/...f-a-bad-grade/
