I assume responding to the complaint in the manner they requested is not a good idea.
Honestly I don't think most people under the age of ~50 really put much stock in the BBB these days, or check it before buying anything. I am guessing your sales have not been impacted since the rating dropped. It's like the mobsters who walk into your store and demand protection money, except in this instance all they can do is be mean to you on a website that nobody pays attention to.
Pretty funny to see them get frustrated with the reaction here though.
Apparently putting complaints about the BBB on the BBB doesn't effect their A+ rating.

If anyone is interested in learning about them, their actual name is: COUNCIL OF BETTER BUSINESS BUREAUS INC. This is the one that runs bbb.org. They are a nonprofit organization whose members are the local bbb’s. It is easy to look up information on nonprofits. There is a website called guidestar.org. There is a free login. although they try to up sell you on their reports, you can get everything from the 990s which is free to download. The 990 is the annual report/tax return that nonprofits file with the IRS. Lots of info in there.
What I have gotten from Allison is that all they want is a reply about the complaint.
As I understand the complaint, it does not seem accurate. How can one respond to that?

Dutch, Allison said Alex is in contact with 'Cindy Cameron' the person responsible for complaints.
And it would be taken care of then.

This was taken care of and our rating is now "NR". So we have a bunch of reviews and no complaints and it gives us a "No Rating" tag.

Sounds like they're reviewing it. Found this on the website:
"BBB assigns ratings from A+ (highest) to F (lowest). In some cases, BBB will not rate the business (indicated by an NR, or "No Rating”) for reasons that include insufficient information about a business or ongoing review/update of the business’s file."
Good to see!
What I want to say is that I feel bad because I hadn’t made any reviews before all of this. Who would think it was necessary with so many positive reviews already anywhere you looked, plus Dutch sells so many great things that are not sold anywhere else? But anyway, it made me feel bad.
