if you want to try a pole mod on the easy and cheap, just get some beastee dee rings, and clip the back "buckle" part, and slide them onto the existing tie outs

you can use them to hold poles

if it doesn't work out for you, just take them off

worst case scenario, you toss away $3

1/2" beastee dee's fit the end of a pole perfectly

I went with your suggestion on the 1/2 beastee dee's and works great. I love how much it opens things up compared to external pole mods

Thank you for going to the effort! It is quite impressive to see the difference with the various configurations on the same tarp. All of the close-ups are much appreciated. Clearly, the three-pole setup is superior for creating space and structure, but of course, it will always be a personal decision with regard to the weight trade-off. For your setup with the bridge, and especially with a pulk, I'd go 3-pole every time.
