Red face Greetings and Salutations from IN

    Howdy y'all,

I reside in New Albany, IN. Graduated from a little town in central KY many moons ago.

My journey to hammocks (in no particular order):

    1. Shug
    2. Sintax
    3. A desire to hike the AT. (The primary motive that pushed me to hike and backpacking)
    4. Wanting to be comfortable when I sleep.

    A little about me:

I photograph pretty things and hope that my stay here will be an enlightened journey. THe link to my IG should be in my profile. I, also, teach 8th graders science; however that is another story.

    Have a beautiful day!

    -J

Welcome to the forums. My best friend is from near Fort Wayne IN and we did a little section hike on the AT a month ago.
    Straight out of Clayton.

Most physical hike: Grandfather Mountain, NC. Aug 13.

I don't need to make my pack lighter. I need to make my (_*_) lighter.

That's not too far away. Around 3 hours. I've been thinking about doing the Knobstone Trail as a long weekend. Do you ever venture down this way?

Whoooo Buddy! FYI, I'll be influencing young minds with this phrase starting August 8th this year. It has crept into my lexicon.

We did a section on the Tennessee, North Carolina border near Carvers Gap and Roan Mountain where the highest shelter on the AT is.

I haven't yet, no. I usually head north when I go. I know OneClick heads down that way a time or two each year. I'd like to head down and check it out sometime though.

We gotta make that work! I'm trying not to overdo it with the wife with busy fall trips. But mid-December usually gives me decent weather for one last non-winter trip down there.
