Many fine quality hammocks are made (constructed) in the US, but are all the source materials from the US as well? So how much of ANY hammock's material is actually from the US? I'm thinking not much. Any thoughts?

Almost all of the shops source their fabrics from China or other overseas locations and or from the fabric resellers here that source in that manner. But one or two of us still use only USA made materials so no effect on us.

Who are the "one or two of us"?
Are Dutch and RipstopByTheRoll fabrics made in the US?
Will be interesting to see the effect on China-made quilt by EE and Massdrop. Maybe this will bring back to the US some of the production...
US manufactures, given a 20% buffer between their prices and their traditional competitors will certainly raise their prices to take advantage. Additionally, buyers of Chinese materials motivated by higher Chinese prices will, by design, seek other non-taxed sources of materials including US manufactured goods resulting in increased prices. I think "No effect on us" is wishful thinking.

I have no intimate knowledge but suspect that in time others will step up to the plate to replace China. How long did we think the party would last and how much of a price are we willing to pay (IP theft, predatory practices...)?
Interesting read...

There was this discussion over at the RBTR sub-forum several weeks ago that might shed some light.
It is just 10% added tax on the fabric if at all. Most of the cost comes from the workmanship, would be surprise if the cost increases significantly for custom hammocks.
I am not the most up to date but, I thought the tarriffs on all Chinese goods were 20%.
Significant costs for cottage vendors and mass-market producers as well will be the premium on down. My understanding is that because of the labor-intense process of producing down, most of the world's down originates in China.
So, 20% more for technical fabrics, 20% more for the down; how much does that add to the cost of an underquilt? Will that difference in cost deter a potential buyer? I don't know but my guess is if everything cost more, everyone will be buying less.
