    Japan - Tokyo - November 2019

    Hey all,

I will be travelling to Tokyo for the rugby world cup and while I will most likely stay at a hotel most of the trip I would love to get at least one night out.

Given the time frame my guess is to expect a cold winter? Or will November still be temperate?

Most likely I will be hammocking with 2 ground dwellers. Although that can change depending on which sokution is recommended.

    Any recommended spots near Tokyo?

    Thank you for the info!

Hiya. Expect fall-like temps in November.

There's a lot of places around Tokyo. I'd recommend Okutama, Yamanashi or Chichibu.

If you want to camp in snow, Nagano is close by train.

Do you want to hike or just camp?

Here's a trip report last year up in Okutama

I think we will do a little hiking, as Mt. Fujinis definitely in the to-do basket.

Dont think that climb will be mixed with the campout though.

Thanks for the report, excellent source of information

Climbing Fuji in November is not recommended unless you have alpine experience. Everything but the lower station will be closed and the trails up the mountain are marked off.

Instead, I’d recommend seeing Fuji as it is meant to be seen — from afar.
