Tracking this thread and will have a better idea if I can attend as the date gets closer. Just a thought or suggestion for firewood...Craigslist may have folks in PW county with free firewood. Perhaps have a wood splitting party at camp?

    VA - NOVA Hang - Nov 9-11 2018 - Prince William Forest

I called the park a little while ago and the lady I spoke with said the wood doesn’t have to come from inside PWC, but it does have to be USDA certified pest free wood. I’ve see USDA wood sold at places like grocery stores but they’re generally in small bundles of like 10 logs for around $7 or 8 bucks, which seems pricy to me. If anyone knows of a local source that can sell the rated wood in bulk that could be a better option.

Very tentatively adding this to the calendar, but I have no idea if I'll be able to get the time off for this...

I intend to be there with my teenage son Daniel, though I'll probably be sleeping on the ground.

If you are sleeping on the ground because you do not have another hammock and quilts. I will bring an extra set up for you. It will be in my jeep if you need it.

Likewise, I’ll have extra setups as well. Ground by choice only. . Never by necessity.

Well my birthday was just a few days ago, but this year the gifts will be for all of you. I’ve been getting confirmations for donations for the first ever NOVA Hang Raffle. I’ll update as I actually receive the items. Be sure to thank your local vendor. Now we will be able to cover some of those costs like firewood. Also the majority of the proceeds will go directly back to Prince William Forest Park who has provided us with a great location for the past five years.

So, everyone, don’t forget to bring your disposable income to buy tickets!

Way cool!!! We never have raffles. Not sure if I will have time, but if I can, I will make a batch of soap and raffle off a few bars.

Just dont put your brownies in the raffle. I couldn’t handle it if I didn’t win those.
